Glen Palin Deaf Artist

This painting is drawn from several photographs that I took on a New Year's Day's walk around Castlefield in Manchester.

I used pointillism technique for this painting. I decided to use this picture because the water in the canal looks like a mirror effect, it was so smooth and still.

The canal barges are reflected in the water, which is why it is called “Up and Down”.

As you can see when the painting is turned the other way round you can see the drawing with the barges.
