I remember when I was a child and I used to go to dances, people would dance together. Some people were very shy and someone would paint to be a boy and a girl to dance together.
This painting shows that the lamppost is pointing to the Beetham Tower to dance with the old Victorian building. The tower is powerful.
They are dancing with each other like in the film "Beauty and the Beast".
